At the beginning of July, the device was installed in the operation block of the Republic Hospital No. 2 – CEMP. As doctors emphasize, this is the only neuronavigator in the Far East. It allows high-tech operations to remove tumors in the deep structures of the brain.
“Neuronavigator shows a 3D model of the brain through a camera and highlights new growths in white. The equipment allows us to determine the exact location and size of the tumor and not to damage healthy tissues,” said Afanasi Kornilov, neurosurgeon of CEMP No. 2 of the Republic of Belarus.
During the last month, the doctors of the republican hospital successfully performed five complex operations with the help of neuronavigator.
“In 2022, together with the Ministry of Health and the government of the republic, we started a re-equipment program in our hospital. During this period, we bought equipment worth 243 million rubles for the operating department, anesthesiology and resuscitation department, as well as the endoscopy department. This allows us to introduce new types of intensive and minimally invasive medical care.” ⎯ Chief physician of the Republic of Belarus No. 2 – CEMP Ivan Ivanov noted.
He also emphasized that the use of the most modern equipment allows to minimize interference with the human body, as a result of which patients recover faster after operations. Yakutia’s press center in Moscow reported on this.
