The ICC ODI World Cup series was held in India from October 5 to November 19 last year.
The Indian team, where 10 teams participated in the series, lost to Australia in the final and lost the chance to win the cup.
The series was held in 10 cities in India namely Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Pune.
In this case, the International Cricket Council (ICC) reported that India made an economic profit of 11,637 crores from this series. Also, ICC said it is the biggest ODI World Cup ever.
After the 2011 ODI World Cup series, the 2023 ODI World Cup series in India saw 12.5 lakh stadium visits, according to ICC. According to the ICC, 75% of the audience were first-time ODI fans at the stadium.
The ICC said economic gains of Rs 7,243 crore were generated through them alone in the form of accommodation, food and transport in the host cities.
Also, ICC has mentioned in its report that 19% of those who came to India from abroad to watch this World Cup series were visiting India for the first time.
In its report, the ICC also noted that foreign tourists who visited not only tournaments but also other tourist attractions generated an economic income of Rs 2,364 crore in India.
Also, 68% of them said that they would recommend their friends and relatives to visit India. 59% said they would like to visit India again.
In addition, BCCI said that around 48,000 direct and indirect, permanent and temporary jobs have been created in India through these series.
